Title: Is the need for sustainability a driver for more supply chain collaboration?

Abstract: In this seminar, I will be presenting a paper that examines the impact of supply chain collaboration on sustainability within the fashion industry. The study focuses on a two-echelon fashion supply chain, consisting of a fashion product manufacturer and a fashion rental retailer. Three distinct scenarios are considered, each representing a specific level of collaboration: no collaboration, limited collaboration, and full collaboration, which are modeled between these two supply chain participants. The findings of the study demonstrate that, although there is a trade-off between profit and sustainability in each scenario, a higher level of collaboration within the supply chain leads to superior outcomes in terms of both achieved profit and sustainability efforts. These conclusions are further supported by analyzing the profit results under the condition that a minimum sustainability effort must be considered.
