Melanie Averhoff is a postdoc at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University. She holds a PhD degree in Economics and Business Economics from Aarhus University (2026) and a masters degree in Mathematics-Ecnomics from Aarhus University (2022).
Research
Melanie's research interests lie in actuarial science including insurance mathematics. She is particularly interested in insurance for natural disaster, and has in general worked with risks with stochastic parameters.
Teaching activities
Melanie taught the courses "Insurance Mathematics" at the Mathematics-Economics master programme as well as the finance part of "Principles in Mathematics-Economics" in the Mathematics-Economics bachelor programme.
She further undertakes supervision of theses.
