James G. MacKinnon 

75th Birthday Conference

James G. MacKinnon has been a leader in the field of econometrics for decades. He spent his entire academic career at Queen’s University, where he held the Sir Edward Peacock Chair in Econometrics until his retirement in 2025. His long and distinguished career has demonstrated exemplary commitment to teaching, research, and service. He served as Head of the Department of Economics at Queen’s for 11 years, was President of the Canadian Economics Association, co-founded the Canadian Econometric Study Group, supervised numerous graduate students, and co-authored two popular econometrics textbooks and more than 110 research articles, which have received nearly 50,000 citations.

This conference will celebrate James’s remarkable career, his many achievements, and his 75th birthday. It is sponsored by the Aarhus Center for Econometrics (ACE), of which James is a valued member.
