Matthias Lassak is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University, and a research fellow at the Danish Finance Institute (DFI). He holds a PhD in Economics from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (2021).

Research

Matthias' research interests are in applying information economics to questions in corporate finance, financial accounting, and financial markets. For instance, Matthias has intensitvely studied how a manager's private beliefs and her disclosure motives drive her willingness to release information and subsequently affect financial market and firm outcomes.

Teaching activities

In the spring semester, Matthias is teaching a bachelor’s course in Finance. The course is 10 ECTS and represents an introduction to the field of Finance for Business and Economics students at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University. 

In the fall, he co-teaches the master's course on Corporate Finance, where Matthias covers the areas of Executive Compensation, Disclosure and Cost of Capital, M&As, and Shareholder Governance.

Matthias also supervises of bachelor and master theses, as well as topic reports.
