3rd place at the Econometric Game 2018

Four PhD students from the Department of Economics and Business Economics came 3rd at the Econometric Game 2018 in Amsterdam.

On 11-13 April, the 19th Econometric Game (“The World Championship in Econometrics”) was held in Amsterdam. The Aarhus University team was represented by PhD students: Daniel Borup, Benjamin Liengaard, Maria Koch Gregersen and Alexander Fischer.

Jonas Fluchtmann wins award for thesis on labour market economy

PhD student Jonas Fluchtmann wins the Danish Ministry of Employment’s new labour market economy award for his Master’s thesis ”Cognitive Biases in Dynamic Job Search”.

In his thesis, Jonas Fluchtmann examines how impatience, reluctance to losing and overestimating one’s own abilities may affect the behaviour of unemployed people and thus also their transition from unemployment to a job.

Research Prize to PhD student Vladimir Caballero

Carlos Vladimir Rodríguez-Caballero has received a research prize for young researchers by ACRI, the Association of Foundations of Banking Origin, within the Young Investigator Training Program. The prize is awarded to eligible participants to the Third Conference of the International Association for Applied Econometrics (IAAE 2016).

The prize includes 3000 euros together with a research visit at the University of Padova.

Young Economist Award 2016

PhD student Boris Georgiev from Department of Economics and Business Economics has won the "Young Economist Award 2016" for his paper entitled "Multi-product firms, markup adjustment and import competition" at the 9th FIW-Research Conference „International Economics“, which was hosted by University of Vienna, Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics. The award came with a prize of € 1,000.


Travel grants from the Aage and Ylva Nimb Foundation 2015

Travel grants of DKK 50,000 from the Aage and Ylva Nimb Foundation have been awarded to PhD students Stine Munk Poulsen and Jakob Guldbæk Mikkelsen from Department of Economics and Business Economics.


Købmand Ferdinand Sallings Mindefond 2015

PhD student Søren Kærgaard Slipsager from the Department of Economics and Business Economics has been awarded a travel grant of DKK 150,000 from Købmand Ferdinand Sallings Mindefond.

Søren Kærgaard Slipsager plans to spend his scholarship on a research stay at New York University.

Peter Arendorf Bache from the Department of Economics and Business has won the Aarhus University Research Foundation PhD prize for best PhD thesis in social sciences in 2014 for his PhD dissertation entitled Firms and International Trade.

PhD students Maria Elbek Andersen and Mikkel Mulvad Bennedsen have received the Aage and Ylva Nimb’s Foundation Travel Scholarship and will go abroad to, respectively, the research centre CIRRELT Montreal, Canada, and Harvard University. Read more.


Anders Bredahl Kock wins AUFF PhD prize

Anders Bredahl Kock from the Department of Economics and Business has won the Aarhus University Research Foundation PhD prize for best PhD thesis in social sciences in 2011. The prize comes with a sum of DKK 50,000.
