Title: Early Screening and Assessment:  ASQ, ASQ:SE, SEAM 

JANE SQUIRES, Ph.D. is a Professor of Early Intervention/Special Education, Director of the Early Intervention Program at the University of Oregon, and Director of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and the Center on Human Development.  Dr. Squires oversees research and outreach projects in the areas of developmental screening, implementation of screening systems, early identification of developmental delays, and the involvement of parents in monitoring of their young children's development. She is an author of the Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Ages and Stages Questionnaires: Social-Emotional, and the Social Emotional Assessment Measure, and has authored or co-authored over 90 books, chapters, assessments, videotapes, and articles on developmental screening and early childhood disabilities and has received over $17 million in research and federal personnel preparation grants. She consults nationally and internationally on the implementation of screening systems worldwide. Dr. Squires received the University of Oregon Research Innovation Award in 2008, Excellence in Clinical Medical Research Award from Sacred Heart Medical Center in 2007, and Community Recognition Award from the Lane County Commission on Children and Families in 2007 for her federal substance-exposed newborns research project. She currently teaches doctoral level courses in Special Education/ Early Intervention at the University of Oregon and directs the western center of the Early Childhood Personnel Center.
