Karina Hjortshøj Kjeldsen
Karina Hjortshøj Kjeldsen is a member of the Cluster for Operations Research and Logistics (CORAL) at Department of Economics and Business. Her research interests lie in the cross-field between operations research and maritime transportation, especially liner shipping. Professor Jens Lysgaard has been her academic supervisor during her PhD studies.

The thesis
The thesis contains 3 separate papers:
- Classification of ship routing and scheduling problems in liner shipping
- A column generation based heuristic for routing ships and cargo in liner shipping
- Rescheduling ships and cargo in liner shipping in the event of disruptions
The first paper was published in INFOR, Vol. 49, No. 2, May 2011, pp. 139–152.
