Karina Hjortshøj Kjeldsen

Karina Hjortshøj Kjeldsen is a member of the Cluster for Operations Research and Logistics (CORAL) at Department of Economics and Business. Her research interests lie in the cross-field between operations research and maritime transportation, especially liner shipping. Professor Jens Lysgaard has been her academic supervisor during her PhD studies.

The thesis

The thesis contains 3 separate papers:

  1. Classification of ship routing and scheduling problems in liner shipping
  2. A column generation based heuristic for routing ships and cargo in liner shipping
  3. Rescheduling ships and cargo in liner shipping in the event of disruptions

The first paper was published in INFOR, Vol. 49, No. 2, May 2011, pp. 139–152.
