Title: An externally funded research project on Waste Transportation

Abstract: Within the area of waste transportation, several interesting variations of routing problems appear and they are of very large scale. The solution of these problems is the focus in a 5-year DFF funded research project, of which half of the time has now passed. In the first part of the presentation, I will address the project from the academic point of view by giving an overview of the status of the project and illustrate the solution approaches as well as some results we have obtained. In the second part of the presentation, I will give a more personal view on the process of obtaining – and having – external funding.
