With a grant of DKK 60 million, the TrygFonden foundation has taken the initiative to establish a new research centre at Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences. The centre is to lead the way in proving that it is possible to build up a solid base of knowledge about what does and does not work with regard to improving the well-being of children and young people. The project has the backing of a Nobel laureate, who believes that Denmark can become a pioneer in the area.
When, at the tender age of 18, Nabanita Datta Gupta left her family in India to become an Ivy League student in the United States, she broke with the patriarchal culture of her homeland. Today, she is one of very few female professors of economics in Denmark, and her areas of research at the Department of Economics and Business at Aarhus University include gender differences on the labour market. She celebrates her 50th birthday on 14 January this year.
After a day’s intensive case competition to select the best solutions for how to tackle the water shortage problems of the future, three students from the Department of Economics and Business at School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS) have now progressed to the final of the Grundfos Global Challenge, where they will be competing against teams from China and the United States.
Dedicated students from the Aarhus University will together with industry leaders and research experts meet and build bridges and together create a unique experience.
