The venue for the conference is the Lakeside Lecture Theatres situated in the beautiful University Park within walking distance from the city of Aarhus.

The Lakeside Lecture Theatres were built in 2001 and are a masterpiece - not only from the outside but also inside, where our guests will find one of the largest paintings ever done by the Danish artist Per Kirkeby.

There are several auditoria within the conference building which set an ideal frame for parallel sessions. The main auditorium has more than 400 seats, and this will be used for keynote addresses during the conference. Poster sessions will be placed in the William Scharff Auditorium or in the spacious reception areas.

The auditoria are equipped with all visual and audio equipment needed for this international conference.

Each conference room is equipped wiith:

  • Computer
  • Projector
  • Microphones
  • Black boards
  • Pointers
  • etc.

Presentation guidelines

  • Invited speaker sessions last for 45 minutes, including the introduction, and 3-5 minutes for questions from the floor.
  • Parallel sessions and 30-minutes plenary sessions do NOT include an introduction of the speaker, but 3-5 minutes should be reserved for questions from the floor.
  • Please be strict with the schedule to allow time during refreshment breaks.

Poster presentations

  • We have arranged for your posters to be displayed on boards that are 125 cm wide x 110 cm high (4.1 feet wide by 3.6 feet high).
  • We will also provide pins and tape to fix your posters to the poster boards. You will have access to the poster boards at any time on the date of your presentation.
  • Posters sessions will take place in the hallway of the Lakeside Lecture Theatres on 23, 25, and 26 June 2015. 
  • A Session Manager from CREATES will be on hand to assist with any problems during the session. 

No smoking policy

The conference has a no smoking policy. We kindly ask smokers to use the outside smoking areas.

Welcome Desk

Please register and collect your conference material at our welcome desk by the main entrance of the Lakeside Lecture Theaters.

Catering

  • Refreshments are available adjacent to the Per Kirkeby Lecture Theatre (level 3).
  • Lunch (Pre-Conference) is served adjacent to the Per Kirkeby Lecture Theatre (level 3).
  • Lunch (Wednesday-Friday) takes place in the cafeteria in building 1320.
  • Coffee after the lunches will be served at the Lakeside Lecture Theatres and in connection with the poster sessions.

Poster Sessions

The poster sessions will be displayed in the hall area and in the William Scharff Lecture Theatre. Both on level 3.

Please approach our event support team if you need pins or tape for your poster.

How to get to the venue

  • Walking distance from city to the venue is a 30 minutes’ walk (2.2 km) – see route here.
  • Bus line 1A goes directly to the university every 10th minute from the central station – download bus route information here. The price is DKK 20 (2 zones). Cash only.

ARoS Art Museum

During the conference days, the participants have free admission to the ARoS Art Museum in Aarhus.

ARoS is the main art museum in Aarhus and one of the largest museums in Northern Europe. On the roof of ARoS you can also visit Your rainbow panorama from here you can move around in a 150 meter long, circular panoramic path with 360º views of the surrounding city.

In the downstairs area you can enjoy the major special exhibitions, with the 'nine rooms' presenting international art installations. On the upper floors house the museum's own collections of art from the 19th century up to the present day.

Opening hours: Tuesday 10-17, Wednesday 10-22, Thursday-Sunday 10-17. Monday closed.
