Comwell Aarhus

Comwell Aarhus opened in July 2014. The new 4-star hotel is Aarhus’ largest with 240 rooms. The new and exciting building is characterized by its two towers that will be connected by a glass building. In addition to becoming the tallest building in Aarhus, surpassed only by Aarhus Cathedral, the building will also set its mark as the first commercial building in Aarhus that meets the criteria of energy class 1.

Scandic City Hotel is centrally located in Aarhus, within walking distance of shops and sights. Our hotel restaurant and bar, The Grill – Drinks & Dining, is a central meeting spot, both for hotel guests and Aarhus locals. Here you can enjoy a drink, a tasty dinner, or just relax with a cup of coffee.


Right next to the Aarhus Aa stream where the excitement and atmosphere self-generates, CABINN offers standard and commodore rooms, and rooms specially designed to accommodate disabled guests and wheelchairs. How to get to the venue

  • Walking distance from city to the venue is a 30 minutes’ walk (2.2 km) – see route here.
  • Bus line 1A goes directly to the university every 10th minute from the central station – download bus route information here. The price is DKK 20 (2 zones). Cash only.

Getting around in Aarhus

City busses in Aarhus

  • The main public transportation in Aarhus is the city busses. Most busses drive through the city center and many busses stop at Nørrebrogade or Randersvej next to the university campus. You purchase your bus ticket at the ticket machine inside the bus. The price is DKK 20 (2 zones). If you will use the bus several times we advise you to purchase a multiride ticket (at any kiosk in Aarhus).


All taxis in Aarhus are metered and most taxis accept major credit cards. Tax and tips are included in the meter price. Taxis can be hired on the street or ordered by phone (no extra charge).

Getting to Aarhus

By plane

  • Aarhus Airport/Tirstrup is located 40 km north of Aarhus. There are several daily connections from Copenhagen International Airport (flying time 35 minutes). Aarhus Airport/Tirstrup has direct international flight connections to London, Barcelona, Alicante, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Oslo. The bus from Tirstrup to Aarhus costs DKK 100 one way (travel time approx. 50 minutes). The final stop is the train station in the center of Aarhus and close to the major hotels.
  • Billund Airport is located 100 kilometers south of Aarhus and has direct international flight connections to many European cities. The bus ride from Billund to Aarhus takes approximately 1.5 hours, and costs app. DKK 180 (one way). Taxi and limousine services are also available. Do NOT fly to Billund from Copenhagen.

By train

  • From Copenhagen Airport there are hourly direct connections to Aarhus. The travel time is about 3.5 hours and a one way standard ticket costs approximately DKK 400 excluding compulsory seat reservation (DKK 30).

By car

  • From Southern and Central Europe the route goes via Hamburg. Driving from Hamburg takes 4-5 hours by freeway. If you are traveling from other Scandinavian countries, there are ferries to Northern Jutland (Frederikshavn, Hirtshals or Grenå).
